MAN BITES DOG: Face-booked

For four years, Michele Grasso lived life on the lam. Up on charges of peddling drugs in his native Sicily, the 27-year-old beat it out of Italy and took up a new life as a waiter in London, England. With family and friends left so far away, Grasso did what any other imbecile would do: he continued updating his Facebook profile. His updates and photos kept Italian police interested enough to keep his case open, but it was only when Grasso visited Madame Tussauds Wax Museum that the law got their big break. Grasso couldn’t resist sharing a photo of himself next to the wax likeness of the waxy President Obama with his “friends,” and that, coupled with another picture of Grasso at his workplace was enough to lead the law to his door.
Once they’d recognized the famous museum in Grasso’s picture, Italian police turned to their English confrères for a bit of assistance. London police were able to track Grasso’s whereabouts from the compiled Facebook intelligence. They nabbed him and shipped him back whence he came, where he was promptly arrested and sent off to serve a five-year prison sentence.
