As usual, the annual Coors Light Bar Hop takes place on the eve of the eve (Friday, Dec. 30), shuttling you to 13 of the city’s hottest nightclubs. The action begins at Light Ultraclub and rolls into such locales as Winnie’s, Entourage, 1234 and Peel Pub, where DJs bring you to the “land of dance, the world of hip hop and the universe of techno.” 9 p.m., $20.

U.K. DJs Inspector Dubplate, Heist, Diesel and Jazzsteppa join a long list of Montreal talent, including Vilify, Black Tiger Sex Machine, Rilly Guilty and more for the “biggest party in Montreal,” electrifying two rooms with dubstep, electro and drum & bass. Tickets are also available at Moog Audio, Atom Heart, Off the Hook, Adrenaline and SubV. 9 p.m., $50.

Nothing makes a party more fun than a mask. This year’s theme for Cirque de Boudoir’s annual Carnavalesque party is the Venetian Carnival, encouraging you to cover up Eyes Wide Shut-style. Sexy fetish attire, body paint (provided at the party by Well Fed Artist), wigs, top hats and freak show outfits are also encouraged. DJs Omni, Davidé, JNNBNNRCK occupy the electro and techno room, while Greg Pidcock, Voytek, Visionquest and MFR take over the sexy house room. Open bar from 9 p.m.–3 a.m. and best costume wins a bottle of champagne. If everything goes your way, you just might have your own masked orgy. $85/$100/$120, $15 after 3 a.m.

When the clubs and bars eventually kick you to the curb at closing time, it doesn’t have to be the end of the night: an afterparty is a journey to Laval away! Join DJs Ben Gold, Jeziel Quintela & Jquintel, Uppercut, Cesar Bass Romero and Malek & Wizz for an all-night bash continuing until noon the next day. 10 p.m., $55–$65.

Supposedly, the Mayans fucked up, but why not party like it’s the end of the world anyway? With a hot ambiance and decor inspired by the Mayan people, six DJs playing everything from house music and club anthems to 80s hits and performances by circus artists, this may just be the place to do so. Oh man, the description for this party sounds like the hangover will include many pregnancy tests and broken dreams. But whatever, Carpe Fucking Diem! All drinks (and tips) are included from 9 p.m. to closing, so you can “leave your wallet at home.” Please remember to bring cab fare, and try not to puke on your grinding partner, because we all know grinding will be involved at one point. Somewhere “near Montreal,” Tekno Agricole invites you to a “nice and bouncy night” with a shit-ton of DJs including Zone-33, Moebius, Mad-K, MaxDirt, Bunnies and many more, spinning electro, breakcore, hardtek and all that beats in the night. They urge you to bring a towel and assure that water and juice will be sold at a “friendly farmer price.” So mysterious, so 2012. 9 p.m., $20.

Nobody wants to be alone on New Year’s, well, unless you’re depressed. So, why not spend it with other singles at a fine Italian restaurant? Mix, mingle, eat some “delicious hors d’oeuvres” and possibly meet the future love of your life. Ticket price includes party favours, “creative and interactive activities” and a chance to win a trip. Come on down to the Sweepstake Superstar-themed party where glitter, glam, tuxedoes, cocktail dresses and your most sparkling Vanna White-inspired smiles are encouraged (but not mandatory, if you’re boring). DJs Zubi, JNNBNNRCK and Frantastik, a performance by MSTR SSTR and a special appearance by the eccentric Still Not Famous (look ’em up). 9 p.m., $15/$25.

The club that famously stated “No Fat Girls Allowed” hints at a star-studded guest list for this year’s party. Live the high life for one night, be a drunker one per center. Gourmet hors d’oeuvres, High Fashion dress code, house, R&B and rock music and a taste of “true luxury.” 9 p.m., $35, 21+.

Malibu Productions once again urges you to chill at the Holiday Inn, hosting its annual party at the downtown hotel with a five-course meal, party favours, free champagne at midnight and open bar all night. 6 p.m., $150.

Nearly 20 DJs spread out in the two rooms of Espace Reunion will keep you busy until 10 a.m. the next day for the third edition of Nü Love. Monitor, Tone Depth, Joubin, Green & Lateez, Lebaron and Head Nodders warm you up with house and techno in one room, while the Progressive room features FM Radio Gods, Soundshaper, les Limaces, Camo, Maxrain and CF. Expect unique décor, visual performances and many surprises all night long. 9 p.m., $60.

This downtown hotel promises to look after “all your needs” with the “utmost care and quality.” If that doesn’t sound promising enough, then maybe the three-course meal or the open bar that follows does. Top 40 tunes are on the menu, because everybody loves drunken sing-a-longs to Katy Perry. 9 p.m. $150.

A wise man once said: “Go big or go home” and so, this year’s Odyssey party starts at midnight on Dec. 30 and continues until 10 a.m. on Jan. 2. How many hours of partying is that? Probably too many. Trance, house, dubsteb and good times provided by Leon Bolier, Jaytech, Wezz Devall, Superchumbo, M-Rad and many, many more. Keep hydrated and don’t die. $40–$60, or $80 for all three nights.

This party describes itself as a celebration of “2012—one vibe, one tribe, goa chill, spirit, consciousness, energy, love, fun, music, dance!” It also claims to be an extraordinary exploration into the past, the present and the future. Discover the physically impossible with psychedelic trance DJs Otkun, Akibel, Rikam and more, live painting, VJs, hoola hoop and modern dance performances. There will also be a chill-out space and massages available if the time-travelling into an age of new consciousness gets too intense. If you’re still alive on Jan. 1 (or still partying), head to the Bell Centre, where the “greatest masters of electronic dance music” kick off the new year. International DJs Avicii, Axwell, Dash Berlin and Gareth Emery join local talents Cesar “Bass” Romero, Franco Fabi and Stef Agostino, spinning house and trance music until 10 a.m. the next morning. 9:30 p.m., $112, +$40 for VIP.

The fifth anniversary of the XS party promises the best-looking party in town, with shooter girls, circus entertainers and hot body-painted models. With 11 fully stocked open bars, it won’t really matter what anyone looks like by the end of the night. DJs Bass-Sick and Vyktor Zaa will offer nothing but the hits, from hip hop to Top 40. 9 p.m., $99–$119.
