The crew from Heavyweight has been quite busy over the last few months, and are ready to unveil some of the new works they've been occupied with for the last while. Political Minded II, ver. 2.0 (May You Live In) Interesting Times opens Wednesday, July 7, and runs to July 16, at the beautiful new Metrotalent space at 3673 St-Dominique. The vernissage is at 6 p.m. on July 7 and features the musical stylings of Trevor Goodchild, all the way from L.A., Miss Molly, Uzi, Don-Ray, Moonstarr, Simon B and Limehouse Chappy. Come as you are, but the afterparty will cost ya $5 after 9 p.m. I think all true junglists should probably know that the Congo Natty 2004 World Tour will be touching down at Rainbow-Ites this Friday, July 2. Featuring Rebel M.C., the man behind Congo Natty Recordings, U.K. dancehall king Tenor Fly, Brixton's own Top Cat and DJ Congo Dubs keeping the oven hot, it's up to Montreal's own RCola from Chopstick Dubplate to open the night. Tix are $15 in advance at DNA, Triple AAA and Fly Boutique. This party goes from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m., so bring a towel and a change of underwear. Looks like the chat I had with Ivana Santilli yesterday afternoon might translate itself into a fall show here in Montreal. I'm listening to the new record Corduroy Boogie right now, and I can't wait to see her live. Anybody out there who knows a guy named Lincoln who has a birthday May 18th, and was at the Slum Village show at Club Soda in 2002, should holla at me. This guy videotaped the entire show, and me and my boy Paul took him backstage because it was his birthday. I need to see that tape. It's a long shot I know, but I'll be damned if I call the Rantline for something like this... Seven reasons you should never trust the trapeze: Things change regardless... fathead@videotron.ca |
