What would Goebbels say? |

When MoveOn.org offered the winning entry from their "Bush in Thirty Seconds" contest, Republicans were aghast that the sitting U.S. President was equated to Adolf Hitler. Republican National Committee Chairman Ed Gillespie called the ad "the worst and most vile form of political hate speech." Now that same party has dusted off the Führer's image for their own propaganda. A re-election video professionally made for the Bush/Cheney team Web site shows quick cuts of various angry Democrats that the video dubbed Kerry's "Coalition of the Wild-eyed." Segments of Al Gore, Howard Dean and Michael Moore are interspersed with images from the very same ad the Republicans condemned. "The use of Adolf Hitler by any campaign, politician or party is simply wrong," complained Kerry's campaign manager. The Bush camp has refused to remove the ads. Instead they've added a text intro to it condemning Kerry for not denouncing Dems who've made the Bush/Hitler comparison. » Scott Saxon |
