Humans have argued the Bible for centuries, and discrepancies have started wars. Still, it would probably make a huge difference if we knew which verse was being disputed by 19-year-old Angel Shuntaria Morris of Eugene, Oregon, and her 31-year-old boyfriend the night she poured boiling oil over his face.

According to police statements, Morris was making fries when she and her boyfriend starting arguing about a verse in the Bible. At some point her boyfriend grabbed her from behind. He then went to lie down, which is when Angel emptied a fryer-full of oil over his head. Neighbours heard the man's screams and called 911.

Police arrived to find the man in a great deal of pain caused by his melting face. He was taken to the hospital. Angel was arrested. She faces up to 90 months in jail for first-degree domestic violence assault.
