Man bites dog

Buyer beware

When 32-year-old Joseph Bulot was ripped off, he wasn't about to take it lying down. He did what any victim would do. He called the police. The officer who answered Bulot's call to the Chalmette, Louisiana, police station listened attentively as Bulot explained in precise detail how he'd tried to swap his microwave for some crack, and the crack turned out to be fake.

What Bulot expected from the 4 a.m. complaint isn't entirely clear, but he was certainly perturbed. Bulot told the cop how the deal was supposed to go down, expressed displeasure at how it turned out, and then asked the officer if he'd like to come take a look at the fake crack, along with the pipe he'd used to smoke it. Authorities drove over to drove Bulot's apartment, let Bulot show them both items, then arrested him.

Bulot was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and released on bond. Tests showed the crack was indeed fake.
