Damn right

Holy crap

All those wrote-a-story-about-murder-and-got-expelled-from-school anecdotes have got nothing on seven-year-old Brandy McKenith. The Stanton Heights, Pennsylvania, girl found herself with a day's suspension after the principal of Sunnyside Elementary School took issue with her using the H-word in class.

According to Brandy, the second-grade theological discussion at the heart of the suspension began when a classmate used the term, "I swear to God."

"I said, ‘You're going to hell for swearing to God,'" Brandy told reporters. A third student overheard Brandy's comment, and the Judas in jumpers went and told their teacher. The teacher sent Brandy to the principal. The principal sent her home, where her stunned parents called the school board to complain.

Though school board reps say they might look into clarifying their policies, no apology has been issued yet, leaving Brandy asking the same question many might ask: "Why would I get suspended for something stupid?"
