Check pockets before emptying |
|
|
Clyde Lamar Pace II may have had a lot on his mind that morning at the Polk County, Iowa, courthouse. Up on charges of possession and driving violations, Pace might have been a bit distracted when security guards asked him to empty his pockets for the routine clearance through a metal detector. He snapped out of it when he heard the guard say, with a tone of great surprise, "Hey! What is this?" Pace looked to see what the fuss was about. "This" was a bag of pot, which Pace had nonchalantly pulled from his pocket and tossed down. He looked at the guard for a brief moment, and then he ran away. According to the guard, Pace tried to run back the way he came, and then made a wrong turn, which led him down a hallway to a locked exit. That's where the deputies caught him. Pace's lawyer suspects the new charges will affect his client's case. » Scott Saxon |
