For those of you who missed your chance at rave-movie immortality, you can still take part in the filming of the clubland romance Pure tonight, Thursday, Nov.13, at the Rialto. DJs Nivoc, Maüs, Miguel Graça and Guapo will be on hand to provide the beats and yes, there will be free drinks. The only catch is, you gotta wear white. So come on down!

This Friday, support the Montreal underground as Level 4 Productions get several local electronic acts to converge at a single central downtown location for one heck of a party. Each of the four guests at Subculture (Stabba, naw, Black Market and Amalgam) have repped their own scene in this city for the last while now and this is a great opportunity to catch 'em all under one roof. Also on the bill will be Level 4 regulars Sarcastic, Karl Marx, Freebass and Kilobyte. Only a fiver at the door, dial 301-6971 for details.

Looking for something funky? Montreal's DJ Slyde will be joining Simon B and Simahlak's Fresh Fridays at Blizzarts for a night of bumpin' debauch. Fresh off a recently completed mega-mix for the Tummy Touch label, Slyde's Floorwax show on CKUT has been moving listeners in the Thursday pre-dawn slot for some time now. For a brilliantly eclectic taster, check his mix on www.discobreak.com, worth a listen for the Ozzy cover of "Stayin' Alive" alone.

On Saturday, Nov. 15, drop by Missy Bar for the official pre-launch of We Love Musique. We Love Musique is an upcoming Montreal-based, bilingual Web zine intended to "educate not alienate" a young, music-savvy, primarily Canadian audience by providing CD, modern art and cinema reviews in a way that "doesn't require a diploma to understand." The pre-launch will feature Duchess Says, Romeo Casio and special guests. Cover is a measly $2!

While I have yet to hear local electronic act Erna, I have heard good things about them. Exactly what those things were, I'm not sure. I was at a party. I was drunk. But I do remember it was good. Now, I figure, why not spend the three dollars to check 'em out (alongside electro wiz Radarsat-1 and Anti-School Year) at Pasalymany's on Saturday?

Also on Saturday, local label Tidalwav will be launching the new Alain Vinet/Stereomovers/Neonstar & Jester 12-inch, "The Moon," at Stereo.

Bombay Records' Patrick Dream has just been announced as the new resident of Playground Sundays at Parking. Their concept is simple: high-quality, old-school deep house without the dress code, high prices and negative attitude. As an extra special treat this Sunday, Nov. 16, he welcomes Fred Everything to the decks!

After whispers, rumours, and tons of mysterious (and rather over-sized) flyers, this weekend marks the highly anticipated official re-opening of Montreal mega-club Sona. I will of course do my Disko duty and check out the space, so stay tuned for the inside scoop next week…
