Perhaps all those buff underwear models are to blame for Daniel Gallagher's low self-esteem. The Miami, Florida, man is the first to point out that, not only is he unattractive, but he also stinks. So he became an outlaw. Gallagher's 20-minute, two-bank crime spree began when he entered a Citibank and threatened to detonate a bomb unless the teller gave him $100. She complied. Gallagher then repeated the process at a second bank. Again he was successful, but his feet were sore, so he sat down to rest about 100 feet from the scene. Police arrived and, while trying to get a suspect-description, one witness saw Gallagher and pointed him out. Gallagher's bomb-a can of beer in a bag-was seized, and he was arrested. "I'm ugly," Gallagher told police, "and I smell bad, so I can't get a job. I gotta get money somehow." "He's a bank robber," explained a Miami police spokesman. "I didn't say he was brilliant.'" » Scott Saxon |
