His so-called life |

To read the obituary, it would be hard not to mourn the great man's passing. Dr. Sir Thomas R. Dahlberg of Jeanette, Pennsylvania, personally wrote the summation of his life that ran in the Greensburg Tribune-Review shortly following his demise. The achievements catalogued included a Master's from Penn State and Georgetown, doctorate from Stanford, Pulitzer Prize-nominee, syndicated columnist, author, lawyer, two-star general, CIA agent and knight. Dahlberg's best work might have been that obit. It was all a lie. Or maybe he believed it. Not mentioned on the list is that Dahlberg was on medication, as prescribed by his psychiatrist. Dahlberg's mother says she just handed in the obit, as her son had asked, and wasn't looking to be dishonest. She says she didn't know much about her son's life away from home. The Tribune-Review quickly yanked the obit upon discovering it was fiction, and later published a full investigation, ultimately admitting they were unable to confirm even one of Dahlberg's claims. » Scott Saxon |
