Damn right

Everyone's
a critic

Though not the only right-winger club to voice their disapproval of the TV show Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, in which five gay men give makeovers to frumpy hets, the Montana Family Coalition has certainly become the most quotable. In announcing the coalition's upcoming campaign against the show, MFC executive director Julie Millam commented that Queer Eye was "not really a reality show about gay people. A really good reality show for gay people would be five gay men dying of AIDS."

Concerned that the show is just one more whack at the foundations of civilization, Millam says she's "hearing from people left and right that every time they turn on the TV, it's something to do with gay people. It's not reality." Though Millam says she's heard nothing but complaints about Queer Eye, programmers at the NBC-affiliates that ran the show throughout Montana say they received almost none at all.
