Man bites dog

Was it loaded?

There’s a good chance the burglary charge won’t stick. Whether or not that will make much difference to 53-year-old Donald E. Whitney is yet to be seen.

Whitney was picked up by police at a bank in Largo, Florida, where he’d hunkered down to catch a bit of shut-eye. It wasn’t that he’d entered a bank’s employee lounge that bothered everyone. Or even that he’d fallen asleep on their couch. What offended people most was that, prior to heading to the lounge, Whitney went to the restroom and took off his shoes, socks, pants and underwear. He then strolled around a bit, at one point leaning on a wall and exposing himself to customers and staff alike.

According to Largo police, when they tried to rouse Whitney, he said, “This is the bar. Go away.” He’s charged with burglary and exposure of sexual organs, and released on his own demonstrably unreliable recognizance. He has pled not guilty.
