Three-digits |

It can get pretty dull if you’re a 22 year old in West Palm Beach, Florida. What other reason would one have for making prank calls? And why be burdened with dialing seven digits when you could dial three? Howard V. Hill Jr. is about to learn the answer to that question. The West Palm man has been arrested for making prank calls to 911—over 900 of them, actually, in the past two months. Hill often made the same claim: a cop had been shot, or he was going to shoot a cop with his bow and arrow. He’d occasionally identify himself as “Black Ninja.” As dispatchers started recognizing Hill’s voice, he switched to making animal sounds. When first questioned, Hill blamed the calls on his friend Jimmy, and assured police he’d get Jimmy to stop. The calls did not stop, though, and no Jimmy could be found. Hill faces first-degree misdemeanour charges for unlawful use of the 911 system. » Scott Saxon |
