Use of colour

Geo: Dedicated to the Dutch abstract modernist, Mondrimat lets you experiment with Piet Mondrian’s theories on space, colour and visual rhythm. Controls are minimal but easy to grasp, just click, drag and make art. Broadway boogie woogie at www.stephen.com/mondrimat/.

Nude, not naked: The Nudie Suit is an essential element of the Country Music wardrobe, and it only sounds dirty. In fact, the name has nothing to do with the state of undress of the wearer, but is actually a reference to the nickname of the tailor who created them: Kiev-born Jewish boxer-turned-tailor Nudka Cohn. The style was shiny, gaudy, embroidered and fringed. Hank Williams popularized them, Gram Parsons had one embroidered with pot leaves and Elvis had many, one made of gold lamée and another studded with rhinestones. Thanks to the likes of the White Stripes, the look seems to be coming back. Get country at www.angelfire.com/ca3/nudierodeotailor/.
