Mutterings of the End of Times are going on among the Skver, a sect of Hasidic Jews in New Square, New York. They say God has revealed himself at the New Square fish market. No humble carpenter, instead He came in the form of a 20-pound talking carp.

According to Zalmen Rosen, one of the sole-witnesses to the event, the carp was about to be killed en route to its final destination as gefilte fish when it began bellowing in Hebrew. Zalmen says it warned that the end is nigh, and it's time for everyone to account for his or her actions.

In a differing of opinion, the second witness, Luis Nivelo, also heard the carp speak but concluded it was the work of the Devil. Nivelo, a devout Christian, says he doesn't "believe any of this Jewish stuff."

God or Devil, once it was done talking, the fish was butchered and sold. :
