Oh, sweet Jesus |

His bible-infused speeches have become as commonplace as his chimp-like pucker. He’s called American meddling in Iraq the will of “the Almighty.” But amidst the rhetoric, concerns are growing among some well-respected people that George W. Bush might actually be a crazy man who believes himself to be on a mission from God. Appearing on CNBC, David Gergen, former advisor to four U.S. presidents, commented that Georgie seems to believe “he somehow may be an instrument of providence, that part of what he’s on… is a mission that has some sort of theological roots.” Asked to comment on this, presidential historian Robert Dallek commented, “I think David’s right.” Even camps normally warm to the presence of Jesus are disturbed. Reverend C. Welton Gaddy of the Interfaith Alliance has suggested that Bush’s “growing sense of awareness that he is, in fact, a divinely chosen leader,” could supersede rational judgement, resulting in very dire consequences. : » Scott Saxon |
