Here’s one question that trips up so many people: what should I do with the body? John Gronemeyer, 42, of Kansas City, Missouri, thought he had a great plan to unload that cadaver with the crushed skull from his apartment. He called the police and told them he’d found it there when he got home. The police asked him whose body it was. Gronemeyer answered carefully: “I dunno.” In a more trusting society, it might have worked. After coming to take a look at the body, though, the police had questions. Questions like, “Where’s your roommate?” Apparently Gronemeyer hadn’t anticipated any sort of investigation, because after the police left he just sat around until they returned, this time with a warrant for his arrest. Police say Gronemeyer has admitted that the body was that of his roommate, whom he’d beaten to death with a hammer. Gronemeyer was charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. : » Scott Saxon |
