All for skin Kudos to Sasha for standing up for uncircumcised men [“Numb and dumber,” Dec. 5]. Terry, the nurse who wrote her saying most women hate uncircumcised penises, is exaggerating big-time and probably doesn’t realize that in most of Europe, South and East Asia, as well as Africa, the majority of men are uncircumcised. Only in the Middle East and North America are the majority of men circumcised. It is wrong to assume the rest of the world is like us. I do not deny that female circumcision is wrong, but why ought male circumcision to be imposed on tiny babies who have no say in the matter? The foreskin protects the male organ from injury and enhances the male’s pleasure in sex. The foreskin is where a lot of uncut men derive the most pleasure. To circumcise the male organ just for reasons of cleanliness makes little sense because penile cancer is extremely rare in any case. And most men with foreskins wash their male organs along with the rest of their bodies anyway. Terry is entitled to her preference of cut men, but I am very proud of being uncut and would not impose circumcision on any baby boys. It is important for men to speak up about their bodies and stimulate debate about whether circumcision is needed in this day and age. » Michael Fremlin Sad Texan I was deeply upset when a high Canadian cabinet official spoke out that our President Bush is a moron. We had been trying very hard to keep that a secret when we got him out of Texas. Now everybody knows. » Thomas Denney, Austin, Texas WE WELCOME LETTERS TO THE EDITOR!Send your comments, compliments or criticisms to: Letters to the Editor, You may also fax us at (514) 393-3173, or reach us by e-mail: letters@mtl-mirror.com All letters should include your name, address and daytime phone number.
