This time it’s special guest DJ Sarcastic with a Three-Turntable Ghetto X-Rated Dirtbooty Tek Set. Also on the bill are DJ Milton Clark, Insomniak and Somsay. It’s four at the door and half price on drinks till 1 a.m., so work it! Then, on Friday, Oct. 11, Jingxi hosts the Refuge Électronik. Featuring DJ db and newcomer the Autist, the Refuge crew is looking to provide quality beats bridging the gap between techno and electro. Framing themselves as a nomadic coalition of DJs, VJs and promoters be on the lookout for other installments of the Refuge Électronik at venues throughout the city. $5 at the door. Keep that healing spirit alive on Saturday, Oct. 12, and party for peace alongside 108 other cities across the globe. Earthdance is a global party initiative dedicated to raising awareness and funds for local charities and to promote world peace. Come rave to the sounds of Jeff MK Ultra, Neerav, Aquarius, Longstocking and a slew of others as the party is Web-broadcast to and from other Earthdance parties all over the world. Speaking of Web broadcasting, this Saturday, Oct. 12, anyone looking for a 12-hour marathon of music and visuals should drop by the SAT as DJs Ghislain Poirier, Pheek, Nivoc, Miss Akane, Mike Shannon, the Mole, Pfreud and several others rock the house under the auspices of the FCMM. VJs Jocool, Cinetik, J.Moment Factory, les Passagers, K-project and a host of others provide the eye candy. The whole thing will be simulcast live over the Net to spaces in Belgium, England, Germany and France. Global dancefloor, indeed! On Wednesday, Oct. 16, get ready to experience a “four on the floor free party people dub mayhem tekno politics attack,” featuring the launch of the debut album from local artist Bottleskup Flenkenmike (aka 1-Speed Bike), Looks Like Velvet Smells Like Pee on the Broklyn Beats label. Also on hand will be some fractured, off-kilter, loopy experimental hard breaks courtesy of Broklyn Beat artists Criterion and Doily with a special guest appearance by MC Seba, aka “the dopest MC from Repentigny.” At the Casa del Popolo, $5, 10 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, it’s the party every mesh-wearing, ironic-mullet-clad, homo-hawk-coiffed hipster has been waiting for, the long-awaited Electroclash party at the SAT. Work off that tofurkey and potatoes to the sounds of Peaches, Chicks on Speed, Taylor Savvy, Tracy & the Plastics, Larry Tee and his latest creation WIT.
