your It wasn’t long after take off from Shenzen when the emergency exit warning light began to flash. The China Southern Airlines passenger plane had just cleared 10,000 metres as crew members dashed to investigate. They found a passenger trying to open the plane’s emergency door. He was feeling a little phlegmy and just wanted to spit. It
was the man’s first time on an aircraft, and nearly his last.
By the time someone got to him, the man had already torn away the door’s
interior panelling and was about to depressurize the cabin. Though the
man moved away from the door of his own accord, the crew thought it
best to sequester him until landing in Shanghai, where he was delivered
to police. After explaining he only tried the door because he didn’t
know where one spits on a plane, he was released. Police felt the airline
should have explained all that beforehand. : |
