The high tensions at the Pentagon were raised a notch when the keen eyes of a Virginia state trooper spotted a strange vehicle making its way down Route 110. The road has been closed to vehicles with six wheels or more since the September 11 attacks, for fear that evildoers might sidle a truckful of explosives up to the U.S. Defense Department. Imagine the trooper’s alarm when he saw a 27-foot hot dog bearing down on him.

The Wienermobile-famed advertising tool of the Oscar Mayer hot dog people-had left Madison, Wisconsin, that morning for an East Coast tour with two new staffers at its helm. The recent graduates of Oscar Mayer’s Hot Dog High caused delays on the busy road as passing motorists slowed to watch the giant sausage get pulled over.

After assuring that its cargo was nothing more dangerous than promotional materials, the Wienermobile was sent on its way. :
