Dear diary…

A handful of artists have agreed to take a veritable onstage voyage with Carnet de Curiosités, a work that includes poetry, live music, song, video and dance. Artistic directors Brad Denys, Jacinthe Giroux and Guylaine Paul are behind this multidisciplinary piece that debuted in Paris last year and comes to Tangente this week.

Denys says the work is like a travel diary: “I wanted to create a live platform to integrate different artistic disciplines and to reunite artists to create from the same theme—travel and colour. Each person has a page of this diary and everybody unveils their page one by one.”

A hodgepodge of people participate in the diary, including a handyman, a magician, a juggler, a musician, a singer, a painter and a dancer. “I like to work by mixing people from different disciplines,” Denys adds, “because everyone has a unique vision.” At 840 Cherrier, May 23–25, 8:30 p.m., May 26, 7:30 p.m. Info: 525-1500. :
