Queer as dance

It’s that special time of the year again: Tangente is staging their Moment’homme: danses gaies series, which showcases the works of gay male choreographers from both near and far.

From away, Belgian choreographer Pedro Pauwels dances in a duet he created titled Étal, which focuses on the vulnerability of the physical body.

Flying in from Vancouver, Filipino choreographer Alvin E. Tolentino brings his multidisciplinary solo work Swan Diva to Montreal. Tolentino uses kinetic metallic sculpture by Claire Murgatroyd and video by Eillen Kage in his quest for identity, be it racial or sexual, in this transformational voyage.

And from near, local choreographer and LADMMI graduate Stéphane Deligny uses flour in his quartet La nostalgie des chiens battus to trace the path from the visible to the invisible. At 840 Cherrier, May 16–19. Info: 525-1500. :
