Second skin

You may be familiar with local artist Ana Rewakowicz’s latex works. Her wearable “Bigger Than Life Size” clothing inflated by air-pump shoes, her inflated room “Inside Out,” or “Come Closer,” a flesh-coloured wall of goose bumps. Opening this Saturday, May 18 (vernissage, 3 p.m.), as part of the Heterosexy group show put together by artist Kevin deForest, is the missing link in this series: “Goosebumpswear,” a work previously exhibited in Glasgow. Rewakowicz again uses the rubber latex surface to investigate the boundaries of our private/public selves and continues to raise (like goose bumps) sensorial responses in the viewer ranging from pleasure to discomfort.

The exhibit, which explores the different aspects of the erotic, also features works by Renay Egami, Damian Moppett and Monique Moumblow. At Galerie B-312 (372 Ste-Catherine W., #403), until June 15. Info: 874-9423. :
