Video-drome

Popaganda: The Web’s best video download resource has gotten even better. The Internet Archive’s collection of nearly 1,000 ephemeral films from the 1920s to ’60s is now available in streaming video, as well as efficient DiVX downloads. What are ephemeral films, you ask? They’re industrial films, educational classroom flicks and promotional movies made to be seen briefly and then trashed.

There’s all the classics here, including the Cold War classic Duck and Cover with Bert the Turtle and a very dirty promo for Oldsmobile animated by the creators of Betty Boop.

You just have to check it out for yourself at www.archive.org.

We’ll be right back: Good for a laugh, here are some vintage TV commercials for your downloading pleasure. There are trippy entries from McDonald’s and Burger King, scary stop-motion from Alka Seltzer and the possibly deadly Ajax white knight. Plop Plop Fizz Fizz at
