A far cry from staying
after class to bang chalk dust off the erasers, one Warminster, Pennsylvania
high school has come up with a new way to give students a boost to their
gradesand it involves a field trip as well! The Archbishop Wood
High School, a Roman Catholic institution, offered extra credit to students
who agreed to picket outside a local abortion clinic.
The suburbs Planned Parenting clinic was visited by a group of
50 students last Thursday as part of their morality class. In an ironic
display of fallibility, the clinic does not perform abortions on Thursdays,
leaving the gung-holy group to parade their intolerance for people seeking
plain old medical attention.
Though it may seem like the school was rewarding students for the washing
of their brains, June Little, a religious teacher, explained the extra
credit was traded simply for giving of their time. :
