>> Sekond Hand Projects help out, hip hop style

by SCOTT C

People always seem to be asking me, “Does hip hop have a heart?” I say yes, and if the efforts of Sekond Hand Projects have anything to do with it, a pretty big one at that. Sekond Hand Projects (whose members will remain sekondary)is a dedicated handful of people who regularly organize and stage hip hop events in order to benefit charities like Maison Marguerite (a women’s shelter downtown), Dans la rue and Sun Youth.
Best known for the successful annual Beats on Wheels invitational DJ spinoff, where cats like A-Trak and DJ Serious spin for free, the crew aims to step up the profile of this grassroots operation with some much larger events and creative projects, all designed so that you and I can give back. How many people do you know who are working on making their charity job one with the heads? Exactly. :
