Busy screen star

>> Tim Post stars in commercials, TV shows and a new Sean Young movie

by MATTHEW HAYS

Actor Tim Post smiles as he recalls his less-than-auspicious beginnings in show business. “When I was 18, I was enrolled in the theatre program at York University,” he says. “I did well in my acting classes, but bombed in everything else. I got kicked out.”
After that experience, Post, now 35, just about wrote acting off. But after completing a B.A. in English at Concordia and returning to the wonderful world of waiting tables, he got to thinking: “I asked myself, ‘What would I do if there were utterly no restrictions, no worry about risk?’ I kept coming back to acting.”
Now the roles keep coming for Post, who starred in the TV series Lassie in the mid-’90s, landed a scene opposite Nick Nolte in Affliction, is a Bud Lite man in a number of ads and has just completed Aftermath, a cop-buddy flick that involves a terrorist plot, opposite Sean Young (slated for release this winter).
“Playing an FBI agent was a lot of fun,” Post says. “Sean and I got to do some Starsky and Hutch kind of stuff, which I love.” :
