What's in a name?
With a name like The Fantastic Tale of the Man Who Travelled a Forgotten World, you can't go wrong. This bilingual, interdisciplinary play not only has one humdinger of a tongue-twisting title, it also manages to incorporate live modern chamber music (composed by Annesly Black), shadow puppetry (provided by Dave Oxley), dancing (by members of artists' community group Open City) and a slide show.
"It's based on the traditional structure of a fairy tale where the hero has to confront three obstacles," Anita Rochon, the play's author and director, explains. "The lead character is born in a trash yard and one day it hits him that he can leave. He travels through three different worlds: the land of forgotten inventions, the land of forgotten people, and the land of forgotten ideas." Take a trip at 645 Wellington, tonight, July 26, through July 28, 9 p.m., $5-7. Info: 849-1209.
