Signs of the times

The exhibit Adding up AIDS: Images of a Pandemic takes a good look at 20 years' worth of graphic art (from T-shirts to matchbooks) and posters with safer sex messages from Canada to Cameroon, Switzerland to Germany and beyond.

The images range from the more conservative (a fully clothed, cartoon heterosexual couple discussing condom use) to naked same-sex couples in various entangled positions. The Gay Archives of Quebec have provided some interesting homegrown examples which hold their own next to the recognizable work of '80s art icon Keith Haring and some stunning black and white photography.
