Morocco rococco

By Mark Slutsky

Couleurs du Maroc is a two-week festival showcasing the diverse achievements of Montreal's Moroccan community, with events as varied as conferences, a children's Koran reading and soccer games. Included in the festivities is Gunther Gamper's photo exhibition Bâtisseurs venus d'ailleurs, which depicts Moroccan-born Montrealers at their chosen trades: butchers, scientists, teachers and others. The exhibit shows at Complexe Desjardins May 21-31. Couleurs du Maroc runs through May 30; event info is available at www.fedmaroc.org or at 938-8838.
