Rather than trying to address their financial distress by cutting fat-cat expenditures, the school board has voted to slash $1-million from the library and support-staff budget. Students, already faced with extremely limited library access, will find they have even less opportunity to bury their heads in a good book, as whatever library staff still standing will have to spread their time more thinly across the city.
