Good ol' Gainsy
Serge Gainsbourg, that most Gallic of womanizing poet-chanteurs, with his stinky cigarettes and stylishly perverse lyrics, is forever worshipped by self-conscious hipsters everywhere. Tonight, April 19, sultry Serge's spirit lives on in Le Cabaret Gainsbourg, which will be bringing together Montreal glitterati to raise funds for Plagiat Théâtre, whose upcoming first work, Requiem pour un con, was inspired by you-know-who. Caféïne, Ann Victor and others provide live crooning, followed by the turntable temptations of DJ's Gaudette and Vive le Yé-Yé. At the Lion d'Or (1676 Ontario E.), 8:30 p.m., $15.
