Known for inspiring multimillionaires and rock stars to aid in his struggle to save the blue planet, McTaggart was killed in a car accident on an Italian country road last Friday, exactly a month before Earth Day 2001. He was 68.

The show's feeble attempts to duplicate American reality-TV success with a half-hour of desperate girls pleading with producers for another chance is nothing to brag to mom about. Now, according to the show's media machine, we should get set for kids to line the streets in anticipation of the group's first single, "Days Like That." And still they threaten us with a second season chronicling the creation of a girl-boy band.
