Is it Art?
Where's the oeuf? Anyone who's seen John Waters' Pink Flamingos and beheld the sight of a rotund, lingerie-clad mad woman in a crib with scrambled eggs in her décolleté waiting for the "egg man" to come, knows the darker side of the egg. And one can never look at an egg the same way after reading about the young French pervs in Georges Bataille's Story of the Eye--not to mention all the similarities drawn between eyeballs and eggs. Adding to the egg's bad rep is its supposed high cholesterol content and the fact that the chickens it comes from are enslaved in factory farms. But the wholesome folks behind the Canadian Egg Marketing Agency are on a crusade to tell "the truth about eggs." Like that they have plenty of vitamins D and K, a lot of protein and not as much saturated fat as you thought. Hear them out at www.canadaegg.ca.
