Back in '99, I saw an amazing solo work called Thunder, by Sarah Bild, which marked me and made my list of favourites for that year. This year Danse-Cité invited Bild to create a work for the 15th edition of their Formule Intégrale series. So Bild is back with another work rooted in natural catastrophes and meteorological inspiration--she looked to the skies again to get her creative juices flowing for Brainstorm, a piece for five dancers.
She gave dancers images of weather phenomena for inspiration and the results are reflected in the choreography. Inner turmoil, lightning and hurricanes are all interpreted in movement.
