"Thumbtacks, barbed wire, broken glass..." PCP Crazy Manny Elefitheriou ticks off the sharp objects he's been bodyslammed into as if it were his grocery list. Together with his real-life partner and in-the-ring nemesis Nick Paterson, aka Nixon Stratus, Elefitheriou has already made a deep, bloody impression in Montreal. Now they're striving to further carve out a reputation.
Their extreme wrestling shenanigans have gotten them and their crew, the Internet Wrestling Syndicate, banned for life from Dawson College. From a one-time event at Dawson to a series of blood-and-guts slugfests at low-rent, now-defunct downtown watering hole Wally's, the Syndicate's greatest triumph so far is the infamous Victimizing the Industry show at Studio last month. There were 15-foot video screens, barbed wire, and girls from the Syndicate's partner, the locally based Net porn powerhouse WRP.
"One penis ruins everything," says promoter and announcer Mike Paterson, referring to the event's unscheduled half-time show, when slightly clad WRP girls took the stage while the ropes were coming down in preparation for the final match. An overexcited and thoroughly soused fan climbed into the ring and became a participant in the impromptu sex romp. The hundreds-strong crowd cheered for dick, and they were obliged.
"It was a loss of control," explains Elefitheriou, quickly pointing out that the fan "never got hard."
For now, the boys want to keep the focus on wrestling, not sex, and the Internet plays a large part in their plans for domination. They promise their Web site, built by WRP, will be the best in wrestling. The biggest draw is to be a new Web- cast show every week featuring an ongoing storyline.
