    >> Sweet-ting.com brings local beats to the Net

    by RALUCA STATE

Sick of schlepping out to Stereo and Sona to get your beats fix? Stephen Bailey and Linda Sekulic are making it easy for Montrealers to check out their favourite local DJs in a new spot--cyberspace. Sweet-ting.com, the young couple's eight-month-old online radio station, is hard at work promoting local DJs and producers. "We want to use the Internet as a model to show all the diverse music being made in this city," Bailey explains.

Sweet-ting broadcasts live six days a week and features 25 local DJs playing drum & bass, house, hip hop, reggae and more. "We leave it up to the DJs to produce their own shows," Sekulic says. "But we ask them to always be respectful and positive." And the name? "Well, I'm not from Montreal," Bailey says, "but there's no better place to live. So I see Montreal as being a real sweet ting."
