  • New Year's Eve Party

    >> The Mirror's definitive list of what to do and where to go this New Year's Eve

    compiled by SIOBHAN O'CONNOR

While nitpicky types will insist that this year marks the "real" new millennium, most of us have accepted that a new century has begun without any major mayhem. With the pressure off, it's time again to break out those strappy party shoes, sequinned numbers, cowboy hats and black ties for another set of massive and not-so-massive New Year's celebrations. Choose one or shuttle between this city's blowout parties, intimate live shows and club parties and be sure to amass as many good stories as you can. True or false, they'll make great conversation over brunch the next day.

Please note: unless otherwise indicated, all parties take place on Dec. 31.
