Marionettes on the move

by GENEVIEVE PAIEMENT

Acting as puppet metaphors for human nature, the kobol marionettes are starring in a new show entitled eko, in which they intend to provoke, incite and otherwise make you question your existence. Co-directed by Louis Ayotte and Pier Dufour, the show is billed as "a nocturnal diversion for consenting adults," but despite the loaded term of "adult," it seems they're aiming at the philosophical and political, and not the erotic aspects of being a grown-up. By creating a world of fantasy wrought with surprise, the little kobols are out to prove that puppets aren't just for kids, silly adult. At Théâtre d'Aujourd'hui (3900 St-Denis), Dec. 15-23. Info: 282-3900.
