Now that the Marketers That Be inundate us with Saint Nicks, fat, naked cherubs and glittery red stuff before we've even washed off the stains of Halloween makeup, the arty homegrown Rusty Plum Winter Craft Fair are a welcome respite from Christmas-shopping madness. The Crafty Chick Collective's annual bazaars--which have moved nearly every year to different nooks on the Plateau--are now nestled in their homey Mile-End digs, Elle Corazon.
This year, which happens to mark the Rusty Plum's fifth birthday, the fairs have once again upped their productivity quotient offering a wider variety of stuff to buy. Among them are: Jessica Moss's tough, Wonder-Woman-esque wrist bands, tuques and chokers; Sebastian Yeung's titillating display of sex toys for boys and girls; handmade fleece and cotton clothing; pottery; candles; handmade books; silver and steel jewellery; and more.
The bazaars run Dec. 9-10 and 16-21, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. at Elle Corazon, 176 Bernard W.
