Angel >> Homeless voters Start pounding the pavement, federal hopefuls, you've got some new citizen butt to kiss. Canada's 200,000 homeless now have the chance to hit you where it hurts: in the ballot box. Thanks to new Elections Canada rules, any homeless person willing to shack up in a registered shelter the Saturday before election day can register to vote--no I.D. required. Reassure them that they could have been really great citizens--fabulous even. Offer them snug and stylish wetsuits to keep out the cold. Share a drink with your constituents on a downtown street corner, that'll impress 'em.

Insect >> Neverending Beatlemania Wake up, get out of bed, get the Beatles out of your head already. Thirty years after the foursome's split, the marketing frenzy continues unabated. From the ueber-hyped Beatles Anthology, to EMI Music's digitally remastered Lennon solo albums, to the Verso re-issue of Lennon Remembers, it looks like the Beatles' money-generating machine is still bigger than Jesus. Lucy in the sky isn't the one making the diamonds.
