Cosmopolitan comics

"Montreal is the best-kept secret in the comics world and I hope to blow it wide open," proclaims Jamie Salomon, editor and publisher of Image Gun: comics and culture for mature people (Crunchy Comics) a new local comic review. "I hope to put it out about once or twice a year, we'll see how things go." The rag reads like a who's-who of this city's comic artists--Henriette Valium, Eric Brauen, Billy Mavreas and friends are all here (even a few Mirror folk). At the launch, a limited edition Valium silk-screen will come with an Image Gun, $10 (Image Gun only, $5.50). At Cheval Blanc (809 Ontario E.), Saturday, Sept. 9, 2 p.m.
