Lady in white

Flags usually symbolize and represent a collective identity (country or province), not a personal identity. The flags that are now hanging around at the Marché Bonsecours, however, are a different story. Imprinted with full-body portraits of people of different ethnic origins, the flags are the work of local duo Attitude d'artistes (artists Jacky Georges Lafarguen and Louis Couturier). Identités flottantes, put on by VOX gallery, is a musing on the notions of personal identity and immigration. The flags fly until Oct. 22. Call 390-0382 for info.
