Throat infection

>> Local rockers rock while Linda sucks cock

Deep Throat debuted at New York's 49th St. New World Cinema in June, 1972. Intended specifically for the raincoat demographic, Deep Throat quickly gained respectability as couples started attending in the hopes of elevating themselves beyond their blasé missionary sex.

After rave reviews started coming in from such famous cinemagoers as Frank Sinatra, Spiro Agnew, Truman Capote and Warren Beatty, Deep Throat became a revolution in the film industry, despite bans and outcries from the religious right. Rumour has it that even Mr. Bojangles himself, Sammy Davis Jr., mastered the Deep Throat technique, and its name entered the American history books when the Watergate informant used it as a code name. This hardcore romp was bankrolled for a mere $2,200, and thus far has pulled in over $600-million, ranking it as one of the biggest-grossing movies of all time.

Of course, the "hardcore" quality of Deep Throat is somewhat tame by today's standards, so the film is considered more of a historical document. With its primary-school script and Tourette's Syndrome deliveries, dated soundtrack and Old Testament pubic hair as thick and glistening as Gene Shalit's head, it is currently gaining a new life as a camp classic.

So here's the news: local porno-rockers One-976 and Caféine will be bringing Deep Throat back to lurid life, jamming out their own soundtrack live in front of a projection while go-go sluts gyrate lasciviously.

Both bands have long been associated with porn--Caféine's new album, to be released this month, is called (I Want to be a) Pornstar, and One-976's recently released EP is shamelessly titled Ask for Ass. "It's a classic hardcore porn film," says One-976's guitarist Jet Phil. "It's not rocket science. It's about fucking and having fun and that's exactly what One-976 and Caféine are all about." :
