Brave in the rain:
Traditional dancers enjoyed Kanehsatake's 10th annual Pow Wow despite the rain which nearly washed out last weekend's event. About 300 people attended on Sunday, including Native people from all over Canada and the U.S., lots of non-native spectators and a touring Maori dance-theatre troupe. Despite the weather, the mood was good. "Grandfather gave a free shower to all the human beings!" said the MC. But some speeches of mourning about the Oka crisis of 10 years ago made a few eyes get even wetter.
