Angel >> Cheap hooch >> For the first time, the SAQ opened the doors to its warehouse on des Futailles to the thirsty public and reduced the prices of its excess stock. While not quite the keys to the candy store, over 12,000 people endured long weekend lineups to save up to 50 per cent on the regular cost of 46,000 types of liquid therapy. Normally the slow-selling stock gets poured out, but SAQ spokespeople say that an annual warehouse sale might be a better solution. We agree.

Insect >> Quebec Environmental Protection Practices >> After a decade-long study of "Endangered Spaces," the World Wildlife Fund has ranked Quebec 10th of all provinces and territories in the country. Less than 4.5 per cent of the province's green spaces are considered protected from industrial development, compared to Ontario's 36.4 per cent. "Quebec is sort of sinking as other provinces move forward," says the program's director Kevin Kavanagh. Nothing new there.
