White nights

The ultimate goal of the fifth annual outdoor visual arts festival Nuit Blanche sur Tableau Noir is to "democratize art in all its forms." How? By unleashing over 400 artists onto Mont-Royal Avenue between St-Denis and De Lorimier to decorate sidewalks and store windows, giving free concerts and creating a peace mural and having the public drag a 15-ton sculpture of the earth for a few blocks. To raise awareness about the plight of homeless youth, La Marge s'expose!, a day of exhibits and concerts will take place June 16, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at Place Gérald-Godin (in front of Mont-Royal metro).
