Intercontinental etching

On now at Galerie Trois Points is a group show of prints entitled Montreal--Madrid. The show is presented in conjunction with the Spanish gallery Brita Printz, and culls together the work of six artists working either in Madrid or in Montreal.

The overwhelming majority of the prints on display are done in the chine collée style. Each print displays an ease and excellence in the technical handling of the materials and processes involved in etching. The show is at times uneven in terms of the quality of the imagery, but the standouts, and there are great many--notably Harlan Johnson, Juan Pablo Villalpando, Txuma Sanchez and Susana Murias--more than make up for the rest.
